Contemporary Art Exhibiton

Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of contemporary art at the Afriques@AuxGazelles festival this August.

Mizrahi’s furniture collections blend art, design, tradition, and modernity using upcycled vintage chairs and hand-woven textiles from Africa.

In Mizrahi's furniture collections - art, design, tradition and modernity, form and color merge into a sustainable liaison. It is about the upcycling of original vintage armchairs and chairs with various often hand-woven textiles and fabrics from the Orient and Africa. For the Afriques at Aux Gazelles - Contemporary Art & Culture Festival, a series of chairs with raffia textiles from the Congo will be produced. This textile art from the "Kuba Kingdom" has existed since the 17th century, is elaborately crafted, and consists of woven palm fibers. The raffia cloths, which can be up to 6 meters long, are worn by women and men of the Ngeende, Bushoong, and Ngongos peoples. The appliquéd "patches" originally served to repair holes and subsequently developed into traditional design motifs.
